This photo was taken in early April 2008, as we started planting our corn. This is our new 36-row planter. We are able to plant 70 acres per hour with this 90 feet wide planter!.
The tractor is using "Auto-Steering" so we do not need to use the markers. We plant a non-GMO in the center 8 rows for a required refuge. This refuge seed is contained in the center hopper. The Bt seed is in the rear two hoppers and the front tank contains water for the liquid insecticide system. The insecticide is applied only on the non-GMO rows.It includes an excellent controller that is connected with the tractor radar and automatically adjusts the amount of insecticide applied with any change of speed of the planter.
